The Boulders Biking Trails

It’s wintertime and you are out on a ride through The Boulders. Where would you like to go? Look around, it’s all too easy to think of the trail, it’s all too large to cover in one ride and it’s not even packed in the winter time!

The Boulders is a 645 acre property in the towns of Dalton, Lanesboro and Pittsfield with 6 miles of trails.

If you ride through The Boulders on a nice warm spring day or summer day, you will probably see a some traffic, but you can see lots of people in the area, enjoy the whole town and visit the park. It’s safe to ride there for anyone who wants to ride in the snowy conditions.

In the summer when there is no snow, if you park in the area at the Dalton park and ride through, you might see cars that have been parked on the side of the road. But, what are you going to do?

Bicycling can be an option and the authorities at the park have helped set up a bicycle ride and trail. There is an official bicycle route that has all the mountain bike paths and can be walked through. The paths will take you through the park and down to the Main Street. There are some walking paths that will take you down to the beach.

There are some great cycling trails that are accessible in Massachusetts. If you decide to ride through The Boulders during the winter, look for this information on their website.

In a bicycle with snow and ice, you will really be surprised at how well it will handle. The terrain is straight up, but it does have hills and big sweeping turns to it. When you are biking, you will have to keep your speed up, but it is a lot easier to keep your speed up on the less steep and smooth trails in Massachusetts. The Boulders is 5.1 miles and a great way to get your feet wet in the winter time and it is great for a few months, but there are a lot of other activities to do out there that are also great.
